Dd8 plays 8u LL coach pitch. Home runs are rare in our division because the girls aren't allowed to run on overthrows. Today, she hit her first legitimate home runs! In her first at bat, the bases were loaded. She hit a line drive up the middle that hit the ground a little after where the grass starts. It rolled to the fence. The opposing team was playing their OF shallow, so dd was already at 3B by the time they picked it up. Her second time up to bat, she hit a fly ball up the middle that landed about halfway to the fence and rolled the rest of the way. Once again, the OF was shallow so she beat the ball coming in. The third time she was up to bat, the OF was playing deep up against the fence. She hit a decent single on that one. It's a good thing we had some hot bats today because we eked out a 13-12 win.
