DeMarini 2012 CF5 Fastpitch Bats - YouTube
DD loves her CF5. She was reluctant at first to abandon her beloved CF4 but once I was able to convince her to make the switch, she hasn't looked back. Here's a pic of DD taken during her last game this summer preparing to do battle with her CF5:
I don't have any pics of DD hitting with her CF4 or CF5 right at the moment of contact. However, with the double-stacked design of these bats, I'd be shocked if they flexed as much as the pic shown of the Xeno. When DD's Xeno broke right at the connection point of the two pieces, I examined...
If you're up to $200, go with the CF4. My DD is abouf the same size as yours and her CF4 outperforms any TPS bat she has tried, including the Xeno and Catalyst, the latter being the deadest bat she ever hit with.
If money is an object, I recommend the TPS Mendoza as well. For you DD's size, I'd go with a 32" bat.
Also, don't rule out getting a used bat if it's in good shape. I picked up an almost new CF4 Black for DD on eBay for $140 that she used for two seasons and it has been a great bat for her.
30" would probably be the right size for your DD. If you're looking to spend that much money on a new bat, I'd look at a CF4 or CF5. My daughter has both and also tried the 2011 and 2012 Xeno's. In my daughter's hands, the DeMarini's had more pop.
FWIW, most of the teams in the WCWS were...
I had the same reservations but then I considered the history of DeMarini's top-of-the-line fastpitch bats from the Phoenix to the CF3 to the CF4. With that lineage I knew the CF5 was going to be great and, so far, it has not disappointed.
Not sure about the end cap but I do know they are different on the Hope models. Holding the CF4 and the CF5 side-by-side, the connection point between the two pieces is about 1" closer to the handle on the CF5, so the hitting area is larger.
My DD has been using a 2010 CF4 Black. Fearing it was starting to die, we just picked up a CF5 Hope. Out of the wrapper it has more pop and swings a little lighter than the CF4. Construction appears to be top notch. DD likes it a lot better than the Xeno she briefly had as well.
