14yo LL Player sued by coach for celebration

The wimp took down his facebook page.

    Other Parents Ripping Your Coach

Depends. It may be the pitching coach is teaching it right but the kid hasn't gotten it yet. Some pitches take a long time, a lot of practice, and a lot of lessons.

    Other Parents Ripping Your Coach

My DD seems to have the same pitching coach. Just different city and different gender.

    Great idea.

    Other Parents Ripping Your Coach

Just venting here a little bit and see if anyone else runs into this. My DD is a pitcher. Seems like every time I talk (last nights was the worse) to a parent about pitching they ask who are pitching coach is and then if they don't use the person the jabs start coming. Last night it was the...

How to switch PCs without burning a bridge?

Yep. This is how my DD pitches.

Size of players relative to performance

First two posts of the thread and both exactly right. My daughter is a late bloomer and smaller than most girls her age and the discrimination she has received from coaches and travel ball teams because of it is off the charts.

    Unreal:

I hate the way the strike zone is used by umpires as much as anybody but there is NO REASON on earth for anyone to pull a stunt like that.

Yes another Ump gripe.... (look away if ya need to)

Umpire, Why is the strike zone never the one in the rulebook? Thanks, EP Dad

    Good morning dfp!!

Last weekend on Friday was getting up to drive to Kansas City for the MSP Fall Showcase in Overland Park, Kansas. This weekend Dome Ball starts in Minnesota. That's a zero weekend off schedule for Minnesota Softball. Gotta love it.

    Umpires: Call a STRIKE ZONE

You can't have it both ways. No pitcher I know of is asking for "off the plate" to be called a strike. Just call the bleeping strike zone, that's all we ever ask. As of right now I can tell you that umpires are NOT calling the strike zone as it is defined in the rule book. Glad you're happy...

    She had to sit out

Kid has a horrible day so make it worse? Typical.

    Laurel & Hardy..."Who's on First?"

It should be a 15 yard penalty and a game ejection for caring. It's fall ball.
  14. E

    Laurel & Hardy..."Who's on First?"

"Who's On First" should be credited to Abbot and Costello, not Laurel and Hardy.

The value of pushing the short game towards the end of the season..?

Bunting is an underappreciated skill. My DD spent an entire fall season in the 2 hole bunting the lead off hitter over. She was 9 of 10 on sacrifices that season. I think the runner scored 90% of the time. That was 12U. As the kids get older that play gets harder. Still, if you can sting and...

FYI Blue, the strike zone is described in the rule book

Ken, Thanks so much for this article. I couldn't agree more. Having a DD that's a finesse girl and not a power girl I can really relate.

    2 pitches

Escobedo a couple of years ago only needed one pitch. If they can't hit it, they can't hit it.

    Another year, another team <sigh>

LOL. I'm SHOCKED that that would happen. Utterly shocked.
