They do this so they don’t have to charge family and friends to watch the games. So instead of paying 5-10 to get into the park for the day, they charge one flat fee which allows everyone in and pays for maintenance, lights, etc.
I had the same question when I first saw it too.
Were in Tyler. I got a call last night from a few parents who were upset about the way the rec league was ran and are coming out tonight to practice. So I'm ok with developing rather than getting the all stars.

Travel and in East Texas tournaments slow but never really end. We have a handful of dedicated girls at the moment and they are both catchers and pitchers.

I've posted in every recruiting page I know know as well as city pages and those buy/sell/trade pages.
The job part was an easy decision. I went from working 60hrs a week to 40 and every weekend. Coaching has been a passion since the very first time I did it in 2012.

I've known coaching is hard both mentally and emotionally. I've been doing it for 8 years. However, lately the biggest struggle is finding the girls to make a team. I've got the practices lined out, constantly looking at new tricks and trades, even went as far as getting a better job so that I...
So currently my team will be a first year 10u team taking on the spring tournaments. Although I’ve had some volunteers from the parents to help with stations, I need help finding an assistant coach. Someone that knows the game. But someone that will understand what we’re trying to do. What...
This isn’t an actual event within my situation. But more like a thinking for the future type mindset as a coach. I currently coach 10u and the way this is playing out they would all age up together.
But I agree, a coach that has experience in showcasing and other aspects can definitely be of value
So this isn’t happening just yet but just out of curiosity had this thought and want to discuss it.
Would you rather your DD stay with a team that moves up as a team and you can tell the bond is there? Or do you make the switch every so often?
As far the team aspect, it’s a team they joined...
Reach out to the coach. Sometimes they have to be reminded that the players are still kids. It’s an after season DH. Commitment is great but there’s so much these kids sacrifice for these teams that they forget what it’s like to hang out with friends off the softball field. There’s many...
Starting up a 10u team in Tyler since we don’t have many teams based out of here! College station is about 4 hours. DFW is 2-3hrs and Houston is 4-5 depending up traffic! Looking to get things started around here and bring the game back home!
I started coaching as way to volunteer and show a positive military presence (I was stationed in Hampton Roads VA and there is a strong negative connotation associated with the military there from locals) and to continue my passion. I continued on and off for a few years and eventually moved to...
