Boy you really twisted off on a tangent. Now you are talking about hands holding ropes to prove your theory? You know grip matters but just want to argue, thats childish. Grip matters on every swing. Grip matters on every contact except for perfect sweet spot. You know this.

Shows the bat bending before the vibration reverberates in the bat. Looks like the grip matters.

Taking data from rubber balls bouncing on steel plates and applying it to theories on what happens when a pitched softball or baseball hits a swinging bat is not science and should be joked about! Lol

Seems like since the physics discussion wasn't going well for you, you decided to bring politics into your farewell. You shouldn't do that. Let's get back to the discussion. When do you claim grip doesnt matter, specifically?

Political discussion? No one has mentioned politics.. Are you trying to blow the whistle and summon the thread locker genie?

But frequency of the wave nodes when a rubber ball is dropped on a suspended steel plate tell us different. Trust the science. Do you even own a lab coat?

Do you think handles and connections flex at contact?

Thank you for your piece of work on bat vibrations LOL.

Yep we all came to the same conclusion. Grip matters on every swing. And grip matters on the overwhelming majority of in-game ball/bat collisions.

And then do studies on 1 and 2 piece bats. And then different 2 piece bats because the connections and flexes are not the same. And if we wanted to be the slightest real world accurate we could take the measurements on moving bat grips instead of the silly way they fired a ball at a suspended...

We agree that grip matters on every swing. We agree that grip matters on collisions off the sweet spot towards the hands. How fast does the vibration travel to the hands on balls hit off the sweet spot towards the end of the bat? Do you agree that grip matters on the majority of in-game...

That study supports my belief that grip matters on every swing and the overwhelming majority of bat/ball collisions.

I talked with Nathan about this. He said "grip doesn’t matter" only applys to "blackout" collision. Also acknowledged that grip matters in getting the bat up to speed on those rare occurrences of blackout contact. Also the paper used some data from rubber balls bouncing on steel plate...

Time will tell if you prediction of no bat ever getting banned again holds true. Until then people will continue paying over MSRP for used bats that out perform the others.

The paper should have been labeled 'grip matters on the overwhelming majority of batted ball collisions'. Its a misleading title and a pointless study.

Over the the years there have been many bats that were so much better that those bats were banned from play. Sorry but paying $300 doesn't mean you are getting the best bat.

On sweet spot hits (the loudest contact) do you think the ball is in contact with the bat while the sound is being emitted? Physics is interesting.
