I am not sure how it is going to work; but the first Florida tournament is 5/23 and has what looks like the normal max # of teams for the 7 fields at the complex and isn't accepting any new teams. Have the feeling the TD is expecting on the field to play per normal and to do some fairly minimal stuff on what happens outside the fence.

Unless the FL governor specifically says 'no' on May 18th, I expect it will play. The city and fields have already said yes.

Is the governor scheduled to speak about Phase 2 on May 18?

I am sure we will get hints before then, but that would be 14 days after he announced Phase 1 so everyone is expecting it.

My favorite is that they keep announcing 'X will open on May X' which is several days in the future.... and then everyone does it immediately.

I wonder if the Governor will address youth sports directly. Probably leave it vague and let the cities and counties decide what is OK. Or maybe just play at private facilities and see what happens.

I think that most tournaments will ask for participants to sign a waiver in addition to providing the usual insurance certificate. Here is what USSSA has provided:

Absolutely Agree

For those teams practicing or unofficial games and its not official open yet
\/
To whom it may concern~
Reminder to check team insurance coverage if playing when sport is or is not officially opened yet.
;)

*With extended summer travel season
PLEASE Extend college recruitment window when it opens this summer.
:) yes i'm rolling the bandwagon on this.....

It is possible tournaments might be viewed as a sporting event. Event venues may operate at 50% capacity in Phase 2.
