What will happen 09/01 for HS juniors?

I need a rules clarification! What if the coach and the Prospective Student Athlete are in different time zones? Does it have to be September 1 in the PSA’s time zone or the coaches or both? Since I am kind of old and go to bed right after I hit the Ponderosa at 4p, I kind of need to know what time to set my alarm for.

So what happened on 9/1? My daughter received a text from the head coach sharp at 12:00 AM and from the assistant coaches, welcoming her to the program and letting them know that how much they are loved. It made my daughter's day. I thought it was class act from a big time coach to take time to contact and make this a special day for her commits. My daughter acted like she received a Christmas gift she always wanted.

It was weird... my DD has her own agenda that currently doesn't involve D1 (certainly not P5) so it was not really on her mind.

She got 5 or 6 emails, 4 texts and a couple of phone calls. The more serious ones were from what we would consider the 'academic' D1 schools. Phone calls were from coaches that had changed schools from D3 to D1 who are more interested than she thought and there was kind of an offer - DD is going to go on campus in late October to discuss. Emails were much the same - come on campus and lets talk more (also they prettu much need SAT/ACT scores which she will have at that time). Considering DD has not being pursing D1 schools it was a surprisingly day.

Our team made one new commitments and two others got either offers or a 'come on campus in a couple of weeks' for a last look/offer in person if you want it. A couple of 'make a decision now' calls I am told. A couple of girls didn't get contact from schools they were hoping to hear from. There was also one girl who is now in limbo as the new coach wants to see her play before he will honor the previous coaches offer - not feeling good about that one. So a mixed day.

Overall it was pretty stupid and unnecessary. It was poorly thought out. Hopefully for the next class they make some significant changes.

Added: All the non-D1 schools my DD has been currently talking to ALL contacted her to tell how much they want her there.
