One thing to consider is the safety of the players. 9 and 10 years old playing against 13 and 14 year old players could be a safety factor for some. How are the players skills and reflexes? How good are the 14U teams they may face? I thought it was a pretty significant jump from 10U to 12U...
Yes, my daughter had wrist pain list year, likely from pitching a little too much, while at the same time learning new pitches (those requiring wrist rotation). Diagnosed as tendinitis. Treatment was rest and physical therapy. She still does wrist exercises to avoid re-occurrence. Good luck.
I purchased the Mizuno Prospect GXS101 Youth Fastpitch Catcher's Mitt for my daughter who is left handed. Was broken in pretty nicely out of the box. Specifically made for fast pitch.

Thanks for all the feedback. Probably going to let her pick between the CF8 -10 standard balance or Hope limited edition. My understanding is it is the same bat with slight different end caps, and different graphics.
My daughter wants the 2015 DeMarini CF7 -10. She has tried a teammates and seems to like it more than her Xeno. Before I go and buy the CF-7, I was wondering if there is considerable difference between the Cf-7 and CF-8. Pop?, durability, etc.
Thanks
11 year old DD was just diagnosed with tendonitis in the wrist. Has taken the last week off, and will do so again this week. Was pitching pretty heavily before that. Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea on recovery time?
Thanks
You come home late from a night of drinking with your friends and tell your wife, "Your going to find this hard to believe, but we spent most of the time talking softball." Her response "I don't find that hard to believe at all, that's all you talk about here."
I've had the tunnel done to us twice, once at 10U and recently at 12U. Hated both. The last one came after giving up two runs in the top of the last inning to lose by 1 in the semi-finals. Game was a heart breaking lose, but I had my team line up and respectfully shake their hands and...
Our league requires all board members to complete CPR training, including the use of a defibrillator. We have a board member on duty for each game. We also have a defibrillator on hand at our fields.
I appreciate all those that have commented so far, and I will pass along the information. Not sure when we will be ordering, but welcome anyone's additional opinions.
Just finished up a league board meeting, and we were discussing equipment needs for the coming season. We've had varying success with the balls we have used over the last few years and was hoping to get some input from others.
Last year we spent about $35 per dozen for use during the recreation...
