    I hate coaching politics

    17 girls on a team, and 5 of them had infield positions nailed down. I am surprised the team lasted more than one tournament. 11 players seems to be a good number, maybe 12, but 17?

    Why do softball pitchers have to grunt?

    Pitchers are far from the only athletes to grunt or yell. Wieght lifters, discus, javlin, and hammer throwers, and football linemen are a few that quickly come to mind. I remember reading that a good yell during an exercetion can generate up to 10% greater strength.

    Yeah, I'm venting. It's a game!!!!

    Taunting isnt sportsman like, but the softball cemetery chant is one I have heard for 10 yrs., along with "were coming after you with our bats and our balls and our trophies too." Most of the time its just girls making noise, dont get hyper sensitive. :p
