    Form vs. Function

My kid is hitting great against average high school pitching. She has no hitting coach, just a natural hitter. Mucho power, out of park home runs over 215' fence, I taped it. 12 singles and 10 extra base hits in last 41 at bats. Does not have classic form at all. I believe she is not...

    Video cameras

I want to take videos of DD hitting in game situations. Will be behind the fence. I know nothing about video cameras and have limited $$. Would like to be able to do frame by frame comparisons. I need help.

    Gloves

DD needs a new glove. She has used a 12.5 size since she was 9 yrs. old. We can only afford one glove. She mostly plays SS and sometimes 1st. Rarely outfield. What could we expect if we go down to an 11.5 as I see for infield sometimes. She will be starting HS in the fall.

    Louisville Slugger Xeno vs. LXT

Can you give me a comparison of a cf6 33/23 and a 2015 xeno 34/24? As far as feel (end load) and durability and pop? Selecting a bat is confusing to say the least. thanks in advance.

Does heavyer mean slower? No Not Girls!

I hear a lot of people say to use a heavy bat to slow down a hitter who is always swings early. T/F?

See the Ball, Hit the Ball

I think you are right. Do you know of any specific drills for this problem?

See the Ball, Hit the Ball

She faces average(not pgf type pitchers) 14/16 ages. Some movement and approx. 50+ speed. Has better luck with faster pitchers.

See the Ball, Hit the Ball

She is more early than late. Hits off end of bat or popup. doesn't seem to swing at balls very often. In a typical game she gets walked, hits a weak grounder or pop up then get a hit. I am concerned with the weak hits. She is 5'6'' 140 lbs and can hit it to the 200+ fence which she does on...

See the Ball, Hit the Ball

I have spent some time with my DGD at a hitting coach and she has developed a pretty good swing. The coach sits behind a screen and soft/fast pitches from about 15' and she does fine. In games against good pitchers , not so much. I am now looking for a "see the ball" coach. do I need to go...

News Flash: Rise Balls don't Rise!!!!!

NEXT QUESTION. As a novice, does (rise ball) have a spin altogether different than any other pitch? If so, when a pitch starts out low and is heading high why does any body swing at it, won't it likely be a ball. Seems like most the rise balls I see on TV are way up there. Is it the different...

News Flash: Rise Balls don't Rise!!!!!

I do understand gravity. So you guys say that it is impossible to put enough spin and speed and whatever to make a ball curve/rise upwards in a short distance (43'). I also realize it will return to earth sometime. I am not a rocket scientist but with enough speed and power you can over come...

News Flash: Rise Balls don't Rise!!!!!

I am a complete novice concerning pitching. My question is, most of us believe a curve ball curves, and a drop ball drops, agreed? Why is so impossible that with all the necessary spins, speed, etc. that a rise ball can't rise? I am not on either side of the fence on this one. The only...

    College softball strike zone

It's not only college. Saw an ump yesterday call strikes in the opposite batters box all day long. Then call a runner safe at home and she never reached home at all 8 to 10 inches short. Was sitting behind batters box. Crowed went crazy. Ump was consistent although wrong all day long...

    I hate baseball fields

A 4' plastic temp fence is better than nothing and costs little I would think.
