A quick review:

#2 Swing - down & in pitch, front arm bar, no tilt, ball out of the strike zone
#3 Swing - outside pitch, throws hands out and reaches, ball out of the strike zone

Hi Dream
Your video shows bat drag. That is when your back elbow gets in front of your hands. When you start your swing, and your back elbow lowers, try to keep your hands close to your rear shoulder as you rotate. Keep your rear elbow directly below the hands.
Good luck!
I am no expert, but - she has no stretch and fire. Her upper body turns with her lower half at the exact same time. Then, just before contact, as her wrists are trying to release, her top hand takes over, causing a disconnect (look at her front elbow) and the barrel path to slightly lift.

FFS - Are you attempting to discredit Coach Tschida because of his instruction on a ten year old hitting video? Have your thoughts/beliefs/methods changed re: hitting over the past ten years?
C'mon, man!
There were hot bats ten years ago. I believe proper hitting techniques and training have revolutionized woman's softball. Moving the fences out to 250-270 will make a huge difference.
I'm not a video expert but, AP seems to be leaning forward (tilt) and his shadow is slightly behind him. That may place the ball on the outside part of the plate, based on the ball's shadow. Before you react to me, we use the IB for T work and front-toss wiffle-balls.
On this forum I discovered "hitter". Although I had trouble following his posts at first, I soon deciphered his instructions and had a hitting epiphany, (at least as it relates to teaching). I believe I've got a good grip on the basic concepts, and that on its own is a wonderful thing. DD has...
This hitting action only makes sense if you perform the maneuver correctly. When the batter squares to bunt with the hands separated and then, when the pitcher is in the middle of her wind-up, moves their back foot to the regular stance and slides her bottom hand up the bat to the top hand...
FFS often offers positive information, and is quite adept at posting/manipulating videos. I appreciate that aspect of his contributions. Personally, I find his practice of continual questioning those posters that he clearly disagrees with distasteful. I guess this is an attempt to play "gotcha"...
Enea fattened-up against the non-conference opponents who had less than stellar pitching. Her conference stats (ab-27, ave-.233, hr-2, slg-.519) are much lower. Bush, on the other hand, is hitting conference pitching at a .433 clip.
I log on here to learn rotational hitting, and so I may instruct my teenage daughter to become a better fastpitch hitter. I am not a coach and, initially, my single goal is to help my 14 year old learn the concepts as quickly as is practical.
I found Batspeed.com and read the archives, same at...
I became “aware” of rotational hitting this past Aug-Sep 2009. My DD plays for a highly competitive 14U travel team that appeared to “hit the wall” regarding hitting for power. I googled sites and began studying the free areas of many “gurus” (Mankin, Epstein, Englishbey, et al). I purchased a...
