Georgia is anyone out there?

Fpmark, any recommendations on hotels or how many games per day, etc. Any advice or hints would be appreciated. We will be playing A/B. Thanks.

We always rented a condo on the beach where the whole team stayed. Seems like it cost somewhere around $1400-$1800 for the week. Expensive, but a great vacation with the whole team full of girls for DD to hang out with. We stayed at the Boardwalk one year, but the last time we went, we stayed at one right next to Pinnapple Willy's, don't remember the name though, but all we stayed at were very nice. Be sure to stay on the beach side if you can. Best deals are on a website called Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO), but it's a little more trouble to find rooms for everybody on the team. I'd suggest looking EARLY, now is the time.

I think we played 1, maybe 2 games a day starting on monday, and if you won the first 2 bracket games, you got a day off. If you were still in on friday, it started getting busy. Saturday was back to back untill you're out, or win it all. There was plenty of time to enjoy the beach, pool, resturaunts, carnival rides, arcades, you name it, but you may want to do things early in the week, in case you stay in till saturday.

jdaddy, we have been to P.C. for USFA several times, always a fun trip. DD plays 16U this year and will be trying to qualify for ASA Nationals in Montgomery. Anybody else play ASA qualifiers?

Cyclone, we have played in Chatt. many times, always a lot of good competition, and good fields. Are you from Ga. or Tenn?

yes - DD will be playing her last season of ASA Gold before going off to college to study and play ball

We’re in North West Georgia, daughter plays for a team out of the Cartersville area. We play in Atlanta, Ringgold, Marietta, Savanna, Birmingham and Chattanooga to mention a few.

A lot of good softball in our area, along with many good players.

Coaching an 18 Gold team out of Marietta - I'm a big fan of the talent Georgia has developed. JDaddy - We did PCB a few times - great fun when they are young.

Even though you didn't ask - by the time they are 12 they should be focused on ASA if they are serious about the game. I know it sounds early, but it helps. They can always ease off later if it's not for them.

Biggest thing - find what your DD enjoys and go with it. This is a great game with room for lots of choices.

I believe we will play some ASA tourneys in Chattanooga and Johnson City, Tn. Those will be the closest cities with ASA ball to us. It will be fun to see how we stack up against some better teams this year.

I am not sure when we will be there. DD plays 10u for a new team this year. We will probably play fairly local early to give girls time to gel, picked up DD and three others. Some will be in Knoxville, Crossville and Morristown. Maybe we will see you at the park.
