hahaha

i always say that my core group of girls taught me how to coach softball, versus me teaching them how to play softball
I wish I could say the same. That was my coaching swan song. I still work with my girls all the time, but my temperament is better suited to watching the game from the next county over.

That's really cool.

I coached a 12U team back in 2017 that was worse than Buttermaker's Bears. We played our local "travel" circuit, which was really just rec ball tournaments, and we finished the season 0-24. It was not a fun season, but I'm proud to say that of an original roster of 12 girls, 5 are either playing in college, or will. One D1, one D2, and three D3 players.

I guess we know who we can blame now... 😂
Honestly one of my proudest moments as a coach, on our 12U church / rec team that turned travel, every single girl made their MS team as a starter and a key role player, me and the other coach felt pretty good about that one!

I coached DD in 9u basketball. One of the kids on that team is on DD's MS bball team now. She couldn't catch the ball when passed to her then and she still can't..

watching kids you have worked with succeed, on or off the field, is worth all the time spent, that's for sure

although it's crazy when i see kids i coached in wrestling or football back in the late 90's show up on Facebook and they are paunchy, balding and have 3 kids......where does that put me??? lol
