Simple question --

Do you wrap gloves (ball inside, obviously) (e.g., Hot Glove deluxe wrap, etc) between games/ practices?

Usually also on Amazon, but look to be unavailable there right now.

We have the Mizuno wrap. It keeps the pocket but I actually don't like how it curves the outside of the glove in (see the above picture). I like a glove, when you place it down pocket up, to be like how you would have it when you are actually fielding a ground ball. Not sure of the solution to that..

Thanks. Tho' I was asking if you do have the wraps, are they used even when a glove has already been broken in? So, does it harm the glove by keeping it tightly wrapped or is it a recommended way to go?

My DD puts her glove over her face mask in the bag. So far that has worked great for keeping the shape of her glove. I had gotten her a glove guard, but her method works well and she does it every time she puts her glove away.

We do to keep the pocket but like I said I am not a fan of what it does to the shape of the glove. My guess is that pros/college kids who keep their gloves in a locker (e.g. don't shove it in their bat bag) probably don't do it and maybe just keep a ball in it (if they do anything).

My reply was actually to Lemond -- thanks for the link. We have the Hot Wrap and did well to form the pocket. But, right, like Pattar noted, the shape is now like a clamshell. Of course, not unexpected. But, at what point do you say (if you do) we don't need the wrap anymore and just cross fingers that you have a nice, broken in glove with a formed pocket and it stays that way. Interesting that as I looked this up there really isn't anything mentioned about "best practice" about keeping a pocket aside from keeping a ball in it (nothing -- or very little -- about wrapping).

Best practice would probably be to just store the glove outside of the bag (maybe with a ball in it) but with a 12 YO that means there is a 100% chance she forgets it in her room 90% of the time.. :cautious:

I agree with @pattar I like the glove to stay open. My dd puts her mask inside the glove, or puts the glove around the mask before she puts them both in her bag.
