It’s an ideal ADJUSTMENT. Text book adjustment. The pitch wasn’t a strike.

Edit: it’s not a push swing. The core is going before the hands.

Since the uppercase ADJUSTMENT it all makes since now... thanks for clarifying 🤪

Don’t see the point in getting to a FYB leveraging both legs when all you got left is to throw your hands at the ball... textBook would not be early committal with better adjustment upstream. It looks more like textbook desperation to me. Again not taking anything away from the athlete, He did well in that situation.

The Bonds gif posted on this site so many times is a textbook adjustment to an off speed pitch IMO

looks like a like a train going down the tracks, just like this thread, Why are you trying to derail?

Why are your trying to take the conversation down a tunnel....open your perspective to see the feedback! Is the point!
Respectfully asked of you questions relative to the discussion.
Which you did not respond.

For the record think its fine to have a prefference in mechanic details.
Seems important to acknowledge all perspectives on a topic.
So i did.

The point of how some people /coaches only think or take one approach ( especially in discussion) as i mentioned earlier limits growth.

Simply because there isnt one size fits all.

Never did find you acknowledging the reasons why people have found discrepancies to the 'swing down' verbage.
As if , perhaps, you think it cant be true that others may have valid points.

I'm not taking the discussion down a tunnel mate.. the discussion is lingering here. If you all want to talk about something else.. go for it.

Just because I don't agree doesn't mean I am not acknowledging them. If I missed one of your questions I apologize.. please go ahead and ask me again, I'll gladly answer it if I can.

I have never said one size fits all.. there are many variations in what the best in the world do.. however there are components of the swing which are evident all swings of the best hitters in the world.... of course there are factors that affect hitters as well and they don't always make a perfect swing.

I hope everybody knows that what I am saying is JMHO.. just gets tiring saying that after every sentence. Well except "down to", the best in the world say that.. not me ;)

With the exception of some of the members posting their kid's swings, 99% of the threads on here eventually end up with the same content 🤷‍♂️ Usually takes <10 pages for that to happen. Which is fine since it gives new members the opportunity to see everybodies (or at leas some members) viewpoints without having to go back and read other threads. That said, it does get tiring for some of us who have been here for a bit

Yes I agree it's always the same thing over and over... it starts with the pros don't know what they are talking about...

I'll just keep quiet, you guys carry on

We are getting in the weeds here. I think Bonds adjustments are text book for his era. He adjusts more by ‘sitting’. Think the strike zone has something to do w that. Most guys nowadays adjust out front. And work high to low. Strike zone is a bit bigger now.

So I take it, from your above statements, your definition of moving out for a fastball includes the hands too? To me Bonds did move out for a fastball but that move out didn't include firing his hands..

I think I know what your asking? About Lewis and his hands ‘firing’ early? I won’t answer any farther until I’m understanding you.

You only have to adjust out front if your hands fire too early. Bonds and Lewis both started their sequence expecting a FB. One guy adjusted by sitting in order to help keep his has from firing (down to, TTB, whatever  ) while the other guy fired his hands as if it was it fastball and then had to adjust.

Not true. You adjust out front if you expect a faster pitch and get a slower one. If you get to your launch position 50/50 or 60/40 or whatever and gotta speed up the pitch to make solid contact. That is done out front with the upper body while the lower stays back. Including the hands. Here’s Jr adjusting to a curve out front while his hands are still back.
