A true Friday Check in 5/13/16

DD 3 has her first tourney of the year, Fort Atkinson, WI. Things start later this far north. She is in the 14u division, but since HS season is still on, only 13u teams. One of the teams in the tourney is a combined team, with the 13u players from 2 different teams.
Morning game temps expected to be in the 30s. Afternoon low 50s. Next week they play in Iowa, where the HS girls can play.

DS has the biggest rowing race of his life -- so far. The Dad Vail along the Schuykill in Philly. Landed yesterday, was 75 degrees. For people who know rowing, he is on the Varsity 4+. Amazing turnaround from last year, when he was the 5th best freshman and couldn't even make the freshman 4+. This year he is the only sophomore on the V4+, along with 3 seniors. Three weeks from now is the IRA championship, an even bigger race. Mens rowing is not NCAA. Intercollegiate Rowing Association is much older.
DD 1 heads to Milwaukee for a ceremony for all the HS seniors in the state who have the same scholarship. Only one guest, so DW will take her, while I watch the bracket games for DD 3's team.

DD 2 just took her very first AP test as a sophomore. World History

LOL, I'll be painting the white picket fence for Prom pictures next Friday. The Saturday morning HS game was cancelled for some reason and then DD has a clinic down at Swarthmore. Almost as much time in the car as she will spend on the field.

DD 1 will have her second TB practice Sunday after finishing up our school season last week. I think I need more work than they do. Wednesday was the first time I picked up a bat to hit balls to the outfield and I am feeling it today.

DD 2 will wrap up her first season tonight or tomorrow. We are in our end of year tourney which is double elim. They lost their first game and have one three in a row to make it to the top 5. A couple of wins tonight and they get to play one more day.

DD has practice Sunday. First tournament of summer is next weekend. Should be interesting to see them back together after HS ball. DS1 has orientation for lifeguard job tomorrow. DS2 has first swim meet of season tomorrow so Saturday starts early, early for me.

DD1 has do or die game tonight to make it to State finals. DD2 playing 6 games in a 14U friendly.

Crossing our fingers the girls get to play this weekend. We have had 4 tourneys rained/snowed out in the last 6 weeks. Rain looks probable again this weekend. I don't mind the rain but it sure would be nice if it would rain on Monday and Tuesday - not Saturday and Sunday.

In town tourney. Got stuck with the 8 AM game and have 4 on Saturday. Hopefully 3 more on Sunday.

Going to be a crazy weekend....have the 18U Gold Cup finals this weekend and my DW's neice is getting married in Bham. Therefore, we are headed to the tournament EARLY Saturday morning, then driving to Bham for the wedding, then driving back to McDonough Sunday morning for bracket play. They are changing the format this weekend to two pool games, double elimination.

DD is playing in a 14U USSSA tourney in E Hartford. 3 game pool on Saturday and we drew three very tough teams. Will be interesting to see how the girls do. Single elimination on Sunday. Supposed to be a beautiful weekend!

Lost in 2nd round of play-offs last night. Now in the loser's bracket. 2nd All Star practice Sunday and sports physical's for middle school Monday.
