Posting this here because don't want to de-rail a thread:

Stealth posted this on BBD:
Just so you know this is something Ryan started doing on his own when he was about 13. It's something he would do in the house, whenever he had a bat in his hands. It's a very slo motion swing. The only goal really was getting palm up palm down while keeping the hands at the rear shoulder.

Since it's slo motion I think it's pretty difficult to come to a conclusion on how and what he is doing. I wish people could watch up close and see his top hand working as he turns the barrel. I love sitting on a bucket placing balls on a tee and staring at his hands as he hits. The slo mo video obviously doesn't show that.

I only posted the clip originally to show the hands staying at the shoulder. So many kids want to load their hands/arms back.

I liked the drill and the game swings.

its a wonderfull drill, it has made ahuge difference in the freedom of my players to go down and get the ball.

It teaches them that the hands stay above the ball, hand pivot, it will help them pull their hands inside the ball, it allows the body to whip the bat.

there is a clip of the MLB player in the dugout doing this move.(RD)

someone said it is a push?

DD had a big does of this drill to start the off season in front of a mirror. We had the Ipad out with it playing. She said, "Dad, do you think he's single?" :)

Yes, I didn't post this on another thread so, wasn't my place to comment. I think I understand why RichK posted the gif. I had the same thought that is why I asked Knight for a gif of Brooke top half.

RDB, I took it as RichK more saying they were similar versus different or criticising.

I agree they were similar to me also. I didn't want to speak for Rich. That is why I asked for the top half gif of Brooke I was thinking of the same gif. I was going to post it as Rich but, I didn't want to 'step on' Crankermo's thread.
