I would leave your team. They are 9 and 10. Hard and fast rules regarding food is going to be an issue. They can barely get themselves dressed in the right uniform and require parental intervention for sunscreen, water and snacks unless you plan on doing all that.

SUNFLOWER SEEDS ARE A MUST. Go be a neat-nic in your house. I love seeing them come out of DDs helmet.

-1 No food.

I seriously suggest you think through enforcement and escalation for each rule, or at least the big ones. I've been on teams with 6 pages of signed rules where parents lived in the dugout, and coached from the stands in every game, among other things. If you can't see yourself confronting a d-bag parent about the rule, perhaps repeatedly, don't bother asking them to sign in the hopes that it doesn't come up.

Two of ours that haven't been mentioned, no swimming on game day unless it is after the last game. No staying the night before games unless it is a ride issue and approved by the HC before hand.

I used to go over some of these at the parent's meeting prior to the season. I did ask the parents not to coach from the stands, argue with the umps and not to drink alcohol at the games. I had a big problem with people sitting there drinking and then, driving.

But, I didn't have written rules. I would tell them when to be at the games. That is when I made the lineup, so if they wanted in the lineup, they better be there, before I start writing.

Yes, seeds are good. Some dugouts are banning them, though. All parks use leaf blowers. I don't see the problem.

I think the rules need to be a little different for age and depending on your specific team. Alot of new girls, attitudes in general, parents attitudes, etc. I have coached girls before and am currently coaching 14u boys baseball but here is what my team rules are based on being new to coaching the team and knowing what I know about previous problems of certain players. Parents were not an issue as those kids that had problem parents were not asked to be part of the team. These were read and signed by each player and parent prior to our first practice. Also the 24 hour rule always applies!!!!!
