Also, the rear hip should not be that far rotated back. Need to tighten that up.

We do this drill at every practice but they call it the "Dusty Baker Drill." The left foot is pointed forward however when they do it. It is then taken to a 45 degree angle and then regular stance. I assume this is basically the same drill different name???

Posey's shoulders laterally tilt - Torres shoulders rotate

SlotCompare.gif

Posey's shoulders clearly rotate.

If they didn't, then they would just move up and down, not around.

That's what "rotate" means; to move around something, in this case the spine.

You're so focused on being different that you've entered the realm of gibberish.

I have to run out now - but I will address your points later on....I am sure you wouldn't mind debating. I expect that you will be able to support your position without relying on hyperbole or posts without substance. Thank you.

I'm new at looking at GIF's so seeing the small differences in them has been and still is a work in progress. That being said, I can see the difference in these 2 clips. Buster is getting around the backside and still has control of the tip of the bat in this clip(he could check swing from here) while at the same time he is doing this with a more upright upper body than Torres. How does he do this? More scrunch working from behind the hip. It looks like Torres bat tip is at or near the point of no return as his shoulders and hips are pulling the bat around. Just what I see.. The more I look at it the more I can see it.. JMHO

The pitch to Posey was up (watch the catcher's glove) while the pitch to Torres was down.

And, as I have said elsewhere, Torres' bat wrap was coached out of him by his major league coaches out of a concern that it would lengthen his swing.

Of course, given than Posey also wraps the bat, it's obvious that bat wrap isn't as bad as people say.

There's nothing to debate.

Posey's shoulders rotate.

To say otherwise is utter insanity.

Thanks 00fpdaddy. We did more SnF and deep tee drills last night. I didn't record any swings last night, I'll try to record some more on Saturday for a follow-up vlog entry.

Prior to practice I showed DD crankermo's DD's swing (thanks roga danar for posting)...

WOW, what an inspiration that was. crankermo, how old is Brooke in this clip (if you don't mind me asking)?

I can believe that!

I hope crankermo doesn't mind (it is a public youtube video) but here is the video that the GIF is from. I post just in case someone had suspicion that the GIF was doctored :)

Cheers,
