They are not special pitchers toe versions but by design have the whole inner front foot covered.
Mizuno could do itself a sales favor by showing the inner side of the shoe.
Another pitcher dad turned us on to these at an exposure tourney this last summer when the Ringor seam gave away again and DDs shoe started filling with dirt......

What about a non-metal cleat for a pitcher?

Tired of DD destroying cleats and now that she switched from HE to LD :) it is happening quickly.

DD here is 16yrs old. I don't know about rubber cleats anymore - sorry.

DD here uses the Mizuno's I called out above for dirt (with a close 2nd being the Ringor), and she uses her VBall shoes for indoor stuff through the winter where she will wrap duct tape around her slide-toe to keep them from self-destructing in two innings of work.

This method above is working great now for a couple years.

Funny - I think as a SB parent you get good at all this just in time for your DD to finish her career......

Ringors are available in metal and molded versions, so you can choose the pair that is right for your DD. My DD is getting a pair of Ringor turf shoes with the pitching toe for Christmas. I am hoping this will help with her indoor workouts because she is ruining every pair of tennis shoes she has! LOL

DD is a very big (5’10” – 280lb), very powerful leap and drag pitcher. PC used to call her an excavator. After destroying many pairs of Mizuno, Tanel, Nike and most recently 3N2 within 2-3 tournaments she switched to Ringor. They make the molded and spike cleats as well as training shoes, they are the best out there IMO. Ringor also makes a few different styles with different weight. Indestructible? NOPE, not for my DD. She goes through 2 pairs per year, wearing the front spikes down to nothing long before the pitching toe even shows much wear. In 5 years she has had 1 pair fail, a seam on the outside of the shoe separated about half way through the season, and Ringor gave us 50% off the replacement pair with no arguments.

Are Ringors the best for every pitcher? I doubt it, but they are for my DD. Her team mates also like the Mizuno cleats, with and without the pitching toe.

We have switched back from Ringor to 3n2. I'm not sure how some of you guys are weighing the shoes but the Ringors are HEAVY! My DD wore hers for about 1/2 season and then switched back. She didn't like the weight and that the are stinky. Since they are 100% leather they are durable but they don't breathe at all. Once they get wet, they stay wet.... and stinky... :-(

The Diamond Gem line from Ringor has mesh sides.
