Watching a DVR of the Auburn v Kentucky game with two very impressive pitchers. Really like the transfer they got in Autumn Humes. She is going to be great for Kentucky for the next few years.

Extra innings... 0-0. Bottom 12. 140+ pitches for Humes who has pitched REALLY well but she is at her limit. First batter she gets hit DEEP - you actually see her do the 'oh no' bend over as she thinks it is gone, but it stays in the park. I am like "Now is already past the time to get someone else in". You have pitchers on your bench - good ones at that. Even if she gets out of this inning - you are visitors so you are going to have to go more innings and she is clearly lagging and there is no way she can come out for a 13th inning. She really shouldn't have come out for this one.

So instead, Kentucky leave her in, and then call the "Scaring Hillhouse 's Dog" riseball which gets put over the fence. Game over. Ugh

Thought the exact same thing. I was very impressed that Carlson kept her pitch count pretty low considering she threw 12 full innings. Only 130 pitches is less than 11 an inning.
