This is having a bent knee, the leg/knee however straightens in a flash creating a bow.

This is also swinging off slow pitching.

You do realize that besides Ortiz and the young hitter that none of them have a “very” bent knee like you’re always saying?

The 'young hitter' (I guess you're referring to the one you posted in #10) doesn't land on a bent knee at all. It looks very straight from this angle, then she collapses the front knee/leg. She has the action backwards, which is a starting point, she would just need to reverse it.

In hitting, golf (driving) and baseball pitching you should land on a bent knee then straighten in order to help rotate the hips. You use simple leverage. The trick is to not straighten upwards, but around.

In the classic Manny clip you posted in #10, I agree he did not land on a very bent knee, but later in this swing he bent it abt 30 deg (per below) then straightened before contact - maybe it was an off-speed pitch so he delayed the movement, I don't know.

So, I looked to see what he typically did in his swing and here is what I found in the 1st 3 clips I located. (of course these degree measurements are not exact but they are representative for this purpose)
