Last Winter/Spring it was rumored that this 12U pitcher was throwing 56 mph in a pitching clinic and adding a curve to her repertoire. It was surprising to hear this because this girl was a "deep" second to my DD who was the ace pitcher on their respective 12U team. My DD lived around 50 mph and was definitely faster than this girl. So, I doubted these numbers. When I was helping last Spring in the pitching tryouts I got to first hand evaluate her speed and her curve ball. She topped out at 46 mph and was awarded 1 point out of 9 on her alleged curve ball. Pretty much what I expected. I suspect that there are a lot of radar grandpa clones out there!
