Anyone build a practice mound for their DD pitcher?

I am position in the same spot as a catcher. Why would you want to be closer?

What I wasn't clear in saying is that the knee-high strike to the batter is caught by the catcher about mid-shin height and the ball caught by the catcher at knee level crossed the plate just below the waist. This is why people have recommended using a smaller bucket or, better yet, a non-bucket sitting catcher.
