How fitting is it that there is a Dr. Who clip in the Technical Hitting Forum?!?!?

I agree with you. This particular Pandora's Box is very important. The "what" of the process makes a huge difference for hitters. The "how" of the process is where some confusion and arguments are found.

FFS says

SL
Pujols creates a corner well ahead of when he "releases the barrel".

Perhaps you meant "turns the barrel" ... or "works the barrel".

Yes he creates a corner, then
His back hip/leg start rotation before he release's his wrists.

That is what I have always said and what Howard has taught for many years....

Thanks for finally seeing it.:)

Respectfully, what makes you think anyone here can tell you the "what" of the process?

The box is empty. It has been for years.

Again, respectfully, FFS and Red have no successes regarding hitting instruction.

Caveat Emptor.

There Is in some swings a time when the hands are still loaded, and not being unloaded, while the arms are extending.

SL, the "release" occurs well after the creation of the corner.

Your description of "just a bit before releasing the barrel" suggests that you may have perceived the two to be closely placed .... when they are not. Hence I questioned if you may have meant "turning the barrel" instead of "releasing the barrel".

Not a big deal .... just hoping to avoid confusion. The 'release' is further downstream.

Could someone explain what you mean by "creates a corner"... do you just mean the hips are rotating while the hands / shoulders are still back? I have not heard that term before. Thanks.

Caveat Emptor.

I was really hoping that discussion of Pandora's Box would not lead to the Rabbit Hole. Caveat Emptor can apply to many things. It is up to each individual to decide for themselves. Always keep an open mind, regardless where that leads.
