HS.....where to start,
DD struggled initially. Where we live HS ball is very competitive. At first, as her parent, and her biggest fan :), it was really hard for me to take a step back and watch my DD struggle. She just turned 15 this month, and was not nor was I prepared for the intense...
- I am not really sure if 3 lousy at bats can be considered a slump....She sure thinks so though.
As far as her "assuming" that she will get to play in the next game.... that is possible, after all I wasn't there.
Playing time really is not as important to her as being allowed to contribute...
Today's a new day with another game this evening. DD plans on showing up ready to compete, and if she gets the opportunity to do that, her mindset is to hit the heck out of the ball. I think that a good night's sleep has helped her to reevaluate her situation. Because of the pressure she was...
Sluggers- I think that we all need to be reminded of these life lessons.
- as far as whether or not I was wondering if this is normal, I wasn't seeking assurances for myself as much as I was reiterating what my DD had asked earlier this evening. To allow a player to believe that they will be...
Just wondering how HS is going for everyone else?
..dd is a freshman, made it to Varsity and sits. This is not what she signed up for. She has worked her tail off this last fall, fell back from an injury that was not softball related, and came back capable and ready. She is allowed to pinch hit...
DD just moved up to 16U, is 5'5, 130 lbs. and needs a big girl bat. I KNOW THIS QUESTION IS constantly answered on this forum... but could not find advice for my DD's age or size. Specifically, she has fast hands and is very strong. She is always third or fourth in the lineup, she rarely...
I have since talked with my DD this evening and although she is still hurting over this, she has decided to approach her coach next practice, which to me is a big maturity leap. After all, she is only 14 . I do Not want to be one of "those" parents, and I definitely have not raised her to be one...
You might have nailed it on the head Sweet Lou. DD is fast, although not as fast as she use to be. She went through a major growth spurt and although it has left her stronger, it did slow her down. She seemed to have made up for it by being more aggressive and relying more on her throwing speed...
Thank you everyone. In all honesty when DD got in the car yesterday with those baby blues filled up, I immediately wanted to say, "Who Did THIS!" - I didn't thank goodness. After finding out what had happened, (truthfully) I thought she was having a primadonna moment. DD was third or fourth in...
DD just started fall practice with her club team. She was required to tryout as were all the girls. She was the only one that chose outfield with center being her favorite position. She made the team. This will be her third year with this organization and looks forward to more outfield action at...
