Makenzie has been working on some of the things that were mentioned earlier in the thread. I think she has made great progress in very short time would like to know what you guys think. The front toss vid is a little https://vimeo.com/168041078dark and a little shaky sorry for that I can get better video from the side if needed. I know that the tee is to far out front in that particular swing. She still has not figured out her timing yet and is early on almost everything. I think she needs more separation "loading in the unload". https://vimeo.com/168040650

Tee swing looks good. Like this right here:

Game swing she get out front a little earlier, and front toss she gets out front really earlier. Girls/most amateurs tend to do things like flatten the barrel, a little drag and flick, and such to adjust to the slower pitching. It is extremely common and one of the biggest challenges. Timing is an on going work for all players. I would bet (because it is so much the norm) that as her mechanics are becoming more sudden and quick, she can hit pitchers with speed that many other girls can't but then struggles with slower pitchers (maybe still hits, but video replay looks less than ideal).
If me, my next work with her would be looking at a lot of gifs of MLB player's hands. When the girls are flattening and slowing unloading early to adjust to timing, the best are tipping the barrel (some) and their hands are coming up, back, and around. The key subject and point I would talk about with her is that the pros are continually loading. The whole swing to me is a load and release, but that is hard for many to explain and many students to understand. The splitting the body in 2, lower and upper, is something they hear from a lot of coaches, (I don't like it, but results are important, not the details of hitting language), so I would go with that and point out that the pros are continuing to load their hands and barrel while their lower half is unloading.

Forgot to add the front toss screen shot:

That's what I was thinking also RHC her hands are just way to still throughout the load process. Thanks for the response.

Thank you FFS. Do you agree that concentration of the loading into the unloading would be the next logical step?

FWIW, I'm not sure that "loading into the unloading" is in any way instructional/directional to the hitter. If you say that to her, her next question should be "how do I do that?" (Edit to add: I realize you are not saying you'd use that as a verbal cue, but still....)

Lately, I like "always be pulling back" (with further explanation of the lower body always driving forward and upper body pulling back against it until the barrel turn breaks it and you *GO* plus a focus on how the the body -- and not the arms moving through space -- can be used to "load" the hands up and back).

Anyway, I agree nice job. This looks like this (or at least close to it, getting all the way there can be one of the next goals IMO):

Thanks Rich
I do believe that this type of resistance is more of her style she has never been a hitter with good rhythm. She has been more of a set up and go straight to it type of hitter IMOW. When I try this myself I really feel it in my back especially in the lower back is this the correct feel?

I would describe it as lower-back pull back and then the handload spreads the feel to the upper back. I don't get into specific scap-usage arguments :)

I believe you can both pre-set and use-rhythm/flow-into this type of stretch...

Got it thanks for the clarification.

In an attempt to use her hands better Kenzie has adopted a style that she relates more to her overhand throwing process. I believe that she is not coiling well enough and during front toss she tends to hit a lot of balls off the end of the bat which I am thinking that her hands are following the shoulders around and pulling off the pitch. I do not have any video of front toss at this time but I will try to get some. The following is a tee swing from last night would love to hear your opinions
