Double header in fall league play on Saturday and 1 day tourney on Sunday. We're a B team playing in an A tournament. Looking forward to seeing how DD's pitching stacks up against the A team hitters.

Camp today, practice tomorrow, Cal Camp Sunday. DD fixated on something weird early in the week so her swing was really odd, think she's back on track now. Smart girl, always thinking, not sure that's good.

Any results from last week RB?

Last weekend was "interesting":
- 4 games went 3-1 (beat Purdue! - lost to Ball State who has a pretty amazing #1 pitcher btw)
- At the plate DD got only 3 AB's overall. She's 1-for-3 with an RBI.
- DD was given some 1st base time but only given 1 inning pitching (came in to close a game well in hand). She made it through the inning but it was a bit rough. I later found out that DD was given 7 pitches to warm up!!! I know I know ya need to be flexible BUT DD has never been a "just-go-in-there-with-no-warmup" kind of pitcher. Just is what it is..... I think coach understands what happened but at the same time it's hard to change first impressions.... DD will have her day

Our TB team is in Wapakoneta OH at the Red and White Invitational Saturday. We play Ohio Wesleyan (DIII) , Defiance (DIII), and Findlay (DII) back-to-back-to-back. It looks like we'll have perfect softball weather; mostly sunny with a high of 80 degrees. We do not have our full squad so a couple of kids will be playing out of position, but they should be able to handle it and it should be a good time.

10yo - Saturday morning team practice, and Sunday afternoon double-header in San Dimas.

16yo - Friday night lights!...cheering for HS football team, and Saturday morning pitching lesson.

Thankfully, this weekend doesn't have anything happening before 10am.

One of the increasingly rare weekends at home for me. Meanwhile DW working in Hawaii for 3 weeks. DD throws vs GT up in Atlanta on Sunday. Too far to drive to see her throw 1 game. She threw very well last week, hope she keeps it up. For me TB practice for 4 hours on Sunday, then back up to ND first thing Monday morning.

Tonight is "off".
Tomorrow is homework, workout and 2 hours on the field of personal practice.
Sunday - 9 -4 p.m. scrimmage/camp at University of Houston

I'm jealous of all of you who have games this weekend. My DD is in her first year of travel ball so she's not playing in a fall rec league. She has tournaments the next two weekends. She had some sort of swing meltdown last week, so we've had a week of getting back to basics with her hitting coach and me. Seems like she's swinging a little better as of last night. I guess we'll see at practice on Sunday.

My DS has a travel ball double header on Saturday. It's amazing to watch how fast U8 boys fade in that second game! Then we're off to a wedding that I'd really rather not go to.......hoping for a good bar situation to get me through!

DD was off this weekend but agreed to guest with the older sister team. Should be a fun weekend!
