12u B tourney ball. 0-11. Had the lead in 8 of those games. Always one meltdown defensive inning per game. Always working with team on "trust". Trust themselves, their throws, their teammates.

Last week. Down 3-1, bottom of the 5th inning. Time has expired. We are home team.

We manage to put together a couple singles and a walk, then two infield pop ups.

So, bases loaded, two outs, and DD comes to plate. I'm in third base box. I just say to her; "drive one..."

Pitcher obliges with a thigh high fastball down the middle, and DD takes her to deep left center field, clearing the bases for a walk off triple and a 4-3 win.

We are young and still learning to win. I hope they remember to never give up.

I can remember those days although DD's team went through it at 10u. The snowball innings where they just can't seem to stop it. Seemed like there was 1 per game against the better teams. It was just a matter of experience eventually the 7 run innings became 2-3 run innings and they started winning more games.
