I like stats but overall I think coaches misuse them. My DD hits for a good average, has high OB percentage and does not even know what her stats are and I don't share unless she asks. She is concerned about whether she is getting barrel on the ball. If not she knows this has to change and if it is the results speak for themselves regardless of hit or not. I like the way she approaches her hitting .. not stat driven but result driven.
This is something she is developing on her own .. it's her own philosophy and she owns it thus I only try to help given her approach when she asks. When she asks I know she is willing to listen else I leave her alone to figure it out.
