Thanks to you guys for all the pointers and drills, and the hard work of 14yr old DD. She is a freshman and third year starting Varsity. Through 4 games playing two of the 7 ranked teams in the state, she has 17 plate appearances. batting .833, OBP .892, OPS 2.799 slugging 1.977, 4 HR,s 15 RBI's and 5 BB's (three intentional). Oh by the way she showed up at the indoor track meet and set an all time freshman school record with a throw of 37'3. and wasn't close to the front doohicky. haha I dont know track!!

Yes sir, she started as a 12 yr old 7th grader on Varsity. Actually made unanimous first team all state last year as a 13yr old 8th grader. ND allows athletes to move up if they are able to play once they make middle school.

That's awesome, never heard of that before.

So is your high school 6th -12th grade? Never understood how allowing a 12 year old play with an 18 year old could work out? Not sure if schools need more player or if its the competition?

Middle school here is 6th -8th grade. 6th grade considered elementary but still in the middle school lol. So as of 7th grade you can try out for the high school softball team. Varsity, JV and JV2. Helps to develops talent along the way. Just short of 50 girls in the program this year. I had a very big, very advanced 12 yr old at the time. She actually plays 18u as well as 16’s and 14’s. 7th and 8th graders not the norm, but it does happen
