Ohio Softball Pitcher Taran Alvelo Cited for Shoplifting

You see this thing in football and men's bball but not too often softball. Dd played against her quite a few times and her dad seemed to be a nice enough guy. Hope she gets her head on straight!

Kids sometimes make bad decisions. Shhhh. Dont tell anyone, but adults do too. You can pay them, isolate them, and put them in a padded room, and they will still make the same poor decisions. I hope she learns something from it and makes it right.

That's true. My thing is with social media, cameras everywhere and things like that these situations are made more public and faster than in days gone by. I know my kid has been preached about things like this. Not so much theft but posting on FB or Twitter things that may be questionable. Anything that could put her reputation at risk, well everything besides guilt by association aka ME. Lol

Please, dear God, when my kids make their big mistake, and I know they will. Please let it be shoplifting and not drunk driving, drug use, promiscuity, eating disorders or choosing to stay with an abusive boyfriend.

I don't think my kids would ever do this, but if I have to choose how they F up as teenagers I am going with shoplifting every time.

Ha...I didn't see that part. Sounds like the shoplifting might be more than teenage stupidity and more like parental stupidity in setting a very bad example.

Apparently, she is not with the team, at the state tournament. Alvelo status uncertain for state title game
