weekend qualifier

Finally the first tournament of the summer this weekend. And naturally it's an ASA/USA qualifier and DD's team very much wants to qualify. 20 teams. Two berths. Anyone else playing in an important qualifier this weekend? If so, best of luck. Post your updates here. We'll either be able to relax a bit or try again in two weeks.

PGF 18U - 21 teams - 3 berths - I'd say about half of these teams are forces to be reckoned with. We shall see.

We played ASA qualifier last weekend with only 10 other teams. DD threw a no hitter in first game but we lost due to some errors and passed balls. Fought back in the losers bracket but then the bats went to sleep. Diamond 9 this weekend at Disney's WWOS then 1 more qualifier before HOF in OKC. At least there are 8 berths for grabs in that one. With 18A Nationals only 1/2 day drive would really like to get a berth.

Looks good to me. PGF SoCal qualifier for 18U has 60-72 teams for 4 berths.

Got our butts kicked. Twice. And we may have lost our number one pitcher for an extended period of time due to injury. Hope you had a better weekend.

We are in...!!!! and planning our trip to Huntington Beach, CA for the PGF Nationals today.....we lost to our club's gold team in the championship game in the Kansas City PGF Qualifier this weekend (actually got are arsses kicked in the finals), but very proud that we qualified over some pretty salty teams from around the mid-west....not bad for a young 18A team that could have played 16's this year....next year is looking pretty good already....

yes....and have played them close several times this year....but the finals was ugly! one of the two kids going to Georgia (2015) hit two HR's and double for 8 RBI's, the SS and lefty lead-off hitter going to Nebraska (2014) was killing us too, along with the rest of em ....the lefty pitcher (2014) going to Oklahoma is the best pitcher I've ever seen....and tired of facing her quite honestly....
