DD's school was closed today, and since she was bored and the weather was nasty, I talked her into going to an indoor hitting place. It doesn't open until 3:30, so I couldn't call and make an appointment and gambled that no one would be there when the doors opened.
So I walk in and the owner says, 'We won't have a cage until 5. Carolina is here.'
And I say, 'What Carolina?'
He said, 'North Carolina,' as in the Lady Tar Heels.
So we watched them do hitting for 40 minutes. Pretty cool. There's an upstairs area that allows you to see all four cages that they were using. It was just me, DD, the owner, and UNC. It inspired DD so much that she agreed to go back home and hit outdoors in slight drizzle.
Wish I had some nuggets of wisdom to share about UNC's practice. What is this squish-the-bug they speak of? Just kiddin'
Didn't hear any of that. All I can say is that every ounce of space and moment of time was being maximized. I joked to the owner that he should've charged me to watch.
