The batter is out and runners go back to bases they were on before pitch. Whether she swung or not is irrelevant if she was partially out of the batter's box.

If she had kept both feet in the box, the no-call probably would have been correct if she in fact did not intentionally do anything to interfere.

By the OP’s description, I have the batter out and runners returned.

I am thinking ball was well outside (obvious ball) and the hyper batter was stepping out to get the next sign from 3rd base coach. The batter should be aware that the double steal is on and remain still so this call cant happen.

So we tell our girls to not move after the ball is in the catcher's glove?
If there are runners on the best thing they can do is take the pitch or finish the swing and stay where they are until the ball leaves the catcher's hand. Don't move around to get into or out of the way of the catcher.

What about a passed ball?

Naturally, without coaching, the girls will back away from the play at the plate. But if a righty doesn't move at all, they could be in the direct path of the runner, right? They aren't suppose to stay there.

When there is a play at the plate is the only time a batter should be leaving the batter's box during a play.

If you can dodge a wrench ... I mean, if you can’t manage to get out of the way on a passed ball, you have earned the interference call.
