I don't think WVSteven was talking about the players being justified. He was talking about the ump being justified in the ejections.Trying to hurt someone because you don't like their call isn't justified in my book.

The field ump overheard my question and came into my dugout the next inning, she was a former player and catcher at that. She was heated and told me the other blue had zero business calling a game
You requested a timeout.....to argue a called ball?I respectfully called time
I have all the respect in the world for umpires as I am my rec leagues UIC.
That's a very strange and IMO inappropriate interaction.
Do you ever get the sense that some umpires enjoy being a temporary authority figure a little too much? There is another umpire forum I frequent where I have been utterly roasted by “high level umpires” for refusing to buy into that drivel.

You didn’t specify which part ... I’m assuming you are taking exception with the part about catchers handling the ball. If so, I am in FULL agreement with you.
I was referencing the ejection, not the intentional hitting of the umpireTrying to hurt someone because you don't like their call isn't justified in my book.
the umpire had stated that it was a strike but was calling it a ball because the catcher missed it and it hit him. I just needed to make sure I had heard him correctly that's why I called time..wasn't arguing whether it was a ball or strike, I wanted to know why he said what he said. I guess the title of the thread should have been pitcher gets punished for catcher not catching a initially call strike then changing the call to a ball because it hit him......You requested a timeout.....to argue a called ball?
