Saw this on another softball message board and thought It was a good subject for here.
5. Pepperdine University. Private university in Malibu, California. Won CWS, would be simple to add a softball program, recruiting here would be the easiest job in college sports, "do you want to spend the next 4 years in Norman, Oklahoma or Malibu, California?
4. Colorado. One of the 3 PAC 12/(9) schools that does not participate in softball. The conference with the most National Championships should have all 12 schools participating. Between IDF and Sparklers 2 of the larger summer tournaments are played right in the back yard of Colorado.
3. University of California Irvine. Speaking of big tournaments in the area PGF is in Irvine every summer, the city is loaded with softball stadiums between Bill Barber and The Great Park and there are few STATES in the country that can compete with the talent that Orange County produces every year in softball. Softball at UCI would be a slam dunk.
2. Miami. They play softball in Florida right? And not just the Northern part of the state? Why do the Hurricanes not have a softball program? The school with the most successful baseball program in the state should have a softball program

Just about 12 miles away from the University with the most softball championships (it's not even close) in the country is the University with the most baseball championships (it's not even close) in the country. Southern California is the undeniable mecca of softball, it would make sense that the University of Southern California have a team. Like Miami and Pepperdine, USC is a private university so they likely didn't need to kowtow to the title ix Nazis the way many public schools had to but it's 2019 and time for all 5 of these schools to start softball programs.
