You also have to realize when you are talking about the older bats...some of these older bats probably were not able to pass the compression test if they were to be done to it. The older bats got better and better and never stopped. The new bats do not get to that "crazy" level. The key is passing compression and staying legal but being as good as it can be as quick a possible for as long as it can.

So if you had an old Stealth with 5 million hits on it, of course its going to be hotter and a few feet better than the new bats.

And one last thing, not to insult FP or SP players. If you need to spend 500+ dollars for a bat to hit, maybe softball isnt the game you need to pursue.

OH-this was a serious thread. My bad. I thought we were having another laugh at suckers who buy $500 plus bats (with the exceptions of the new Mako as a rotating handle makes it SOOO much easier to hit justifying the $450 plus tax price tag LMAO)

DD switched to the Easton Mako this season. We found its an ounce and a half heavier than the label meaning DD is swinging about 2 ounces over her last bat which was half an ounce light. Demarini at 21.5 oz-switched to Easton at 23.5 oz. Made a major diff in her swing mechanics etc.

Ya, I recognize the backdrop of the seller. If you look at this sellers profile, he has 170+ used/new bats for sale and most of them are the older "Rare" models.

No competition! The hot pre-ABI bats are in a different league. The Phenix (specifically the quad wall, 34" -8 drop) is generally acknowledged as the king.

The -8's are a slightly different paint scheme though, with a white taper instead of red like the -10's. As seen here:

Why would you compare apples to oranges? What does it prove? The new bats ARENT made to get as hot as the older bats. Comparing a bat that could be testing 2, 3, 400+ points less than a newer bat because it has 5000 hits on it isn't doing anything but the obvious (the older bat is technically not legal at this point). In turn, taking an older bat right out of the wrapper that is stiff as all hell and putting it up against a newer bat isn't fair either.
