Coaching a 10u team and they all seem to have the same problem. The dreaded lundge, keeping no weight on their back foot.
Looking for some drills to help correct this?
Thanks

Have to ask, what is you interpertation of keeping their weight on their back foot?

I would do some tee work having them keep a stiff front side (knee) until they get the feeling. With a weak front knee, it allows the weight shift to continue forward.

Maybe weight back was a bad use of words. Looking for them to be more balanced as you can tell from the pictures all the weight is on the front foot wanting more balance for them.

My daughter had that problem occasionally on change up and off speed pitches...so I tied a rope around her waist during BP with slight tension tied to backstop of someone holding it, yes swing looked ugly at the time but it addressed my main concern and problem solved in a few sessions...unique but effective....

I would maybe try a walk up drill, off a tee. Than have them set up on a tee with it almost splitting their body in half and have them hit the ball, getting use to letting the ball in deeper on them. Just my 2 cents.

I have done the same and was amazed at how quickly it corrected the problem.
