Sadly, parents are behaving worse and worse nowadays. I don't see all the obnoxious behavior in the kids much anymore. My 12U player is very behind in skills having started much later at 10 when most of the girls started at tee ball and well, just not sure it is her thing. But she loves being with friends. The team cheers her on every time at bat and none of them get onto her. I kinda hoped they would to encourage her to want to do better, but you take the good with the bad.
However, one of the parents from the spring made a horrible comment loudly and couldn't give a rat's patootie who heard. My DD plays the outfield whenever she plays and on this day we were short so her and two other of the weaker players would play every inning. This nasty woman says "We should offer money to the other team not to hit it to our outfielders." and a few other nasty remarks. I wanted to punch her in the head. From that day forward I always sat on the opposing side and when anyone asked why I flat out told them that some of our parents didn't support the "team" but their own kid sometimes at the expense of other kids and I just didn't want to hear it.
I guess as parents we are starting to understand how to teach our kids to behave, we just need to embrace it ourselves. I am guilty too, so we all need reminding.
Sorry this happened to you.
