I kind of depends on each players own likes and dislikes. Some players would never stop and others need a break.
I had to laugh at this because by DGD is one of those players who would never stop. After practicing basketball all week Mon-Fri, she had basketball practice from 11a to 1p on Sat. She then went to her hitting instructor from 3p-4p then agility training from 4p-5p. Sunday she had agility and speed training with her TB team for an hour. Then on Tues and Thur after basketball practice she caught pitching practice for two of her friends. Oh, and she says the only reason she is playing basketball is to stay in shape and increase her quickness and agility.
Her TB team shut down the middle of Nov and the only contact they had for six weeks was a Christmas party the first part of Dec. The only contact now is the agility and speed training once a week for 1 hour a week. Weather permitting, they will start practicing outside in early March and then the tournament season starts the last weekend in March and runs through the middle of July. The team will shut down for a month with no contact and then fall tournament season usually starts the first of Sep and ends in Nov. That is plenty of time for team building. Most of the girls have been together for 3-4 years now and they can almost finish each others sentences when one begins to talk.
Of course DGD trades one team for another, MS softball, volleyball, and now basketball. I wish she would develop other interest outside of sports, so long as it is not boys.
