Question about Guest Playing in a College Showcase

Seconding the brief 1-page brochure insert approach. IMO, it should have a head shot (to put a face to a name) and a very brief summary of key SB info, academic quals and, probably most importantly, contact info. A detailed softball resume is not necessary as anyone receiving the brochure will have observed the player perform and formed their own opinion re skills.

okay - so here's a not guest playing showcase question... As a 14U team, our regular team is going to a showcase. The tournament requested information on all of the players to put out a tournament brochure.... is that enough? or should the team still have their own "something extra" for the girls.

I don't know which way our team is leaning, just curious about your thoughts.

A showcase team should always have its own handouts and/or fact sheet/book. Some/many/most tournaments that produce a profile book want the info submitted in a particular format so there is consistency among all participants.

in addition to the tournament brochure, make a folder for your own players and hang it behind the backstop at every game, identify the content to coaches (ie Player Profiles). We have one vertical folder with tabs identifying each player. Any guest players are also given a section, which may or may not be in the same format, but all are 8 1/2 x 11.
