In case the link doesn't work, we really like the Evapor OTC socks from Eastbay.com. Right now it's two pair for $9.99 with free shipping. DD used to wear through her big toe all the time. She's been wearing the Eastbays for several years now and has not had a single hole. They last forever, wick sweat, and have extra padding. They are footed--you need to pay attention to the small R or L at the toes, but as long as she gets them on the correct feet, they're very comfortable for a full day at the fields.
At $5 a pair, you can hardly lose.
