Friend of mine wants to by a 2013 xeno that dd has used for about one year. Still has good pop. Retail was probably $300 new, although I think I got it for $230.
Used seems to start at 50% of MSRP then adjust for market demand. Maybe start at $150 and go no lower than $100. Anything less than $100 you keep it as a cold weather/cage bat.
In my experience, bat prices also depend on the size of the bat. For instance (all things being equal) 33" bats generally sell for more than a 31" bat on the secondary market.
You really have to look at what new bats are selling for (i'm not talking 2015 either)...plus, when people buy new, they get full warranty and receipt in their name...you cant offer that.
Take a look at what 2014 Xenos are going for...and they are brand new in wrapper and full warranty. You have a 2 model year old bat...used for whole year and no warranty. Why would someone pay you 150 when for a couple bucks more they can get brand new and full warranty.
You might find someone not following prices or no idea that would overpay. You also have the "favorite" bat people that cant hit with any other bat that don't mind paying more than smart money for a used bat...but personally, $100-120 would be good if you can get it.
Selling old bats doesn't even your wallet....haha. It just takes a tiny sting out of the next purchase
I have always hated selling a used bat of my own. You always have those people that expect it to last a certain amount of time. A used bat is exactly that buyers...a used bat. Could last 1000 swings...could last ONE!! You are due nothing from the seller if it breaks immediately.
My bat is always worth more than your bat. Meaning I'd like to get more for mine and pay less for yours. I don't believe there is much market for that bat so if it's in good shape I'd say 100-120.
The only bats that did not depreciate much are the purple Easton Stealths.
I think Quincy bought my DD's 2013 Xeno (34/25) for $135 including shipping. That was a few months ago. Think and hope we both thought it was a fair deal.
