As a player, my fun was in the batter's box or on the mound and testing my abilities against others. Sure there were highs and lows. However, I still loved the competition and discovering what I could do.
As a parent, the fun was the journey. Every bit of the journey. I loved the highs and lows and knew that there would eventually come that day when it would all end. Now, the dd and I will be coaching against one another and I'll have a blast.
As a coach? Winning was certainly fun. A couple of state championships, a state runner-up, ... all were a lot of fun and a part of that was a winning streak of 64 games in a row. However, the development of players was equally as much fun. I think the thing that topped it all off was the relationships. I think that was the most fun. I would mention this. I love the strategies of the game and back to what made playing fun, I want to see if I am as good or better than my competition.
