Outdoor pitching mat?

Hi all,

We are living in the middle east in Qatar and have to share the countries 1 and only baseball field. The field is in great shape, but it's a baseball field with grass infield. Our softball girls are tearing up the grass in front of the pitchers mound pretty bad. I'd like to get some sort of pitching mat to protect the grass, and give the girls a stable, non-rutted, surface to pitch on.

Any recommendations for a heavy pitching mat that can be used outdoors on real grass with rubber cleats?

I believe there are teams in the NPF that play on baseball fields, You might try emailing someone there to see how they handle this. Might be tough if the surface isn't perfectly flat underneath. National Pro Fastpitch: Contact Us

Thanks for the replies! I don't know why but dfp for some reason isn't notifying me of replies so I didn't see them until today. Our season is almost over so I will have some time to contact NPF and read up on the options at the link.
