I suppose you could as a precursor to pitching it. Like cornbread mentioned the hips can also play a role in the ball going to the left.
I don't like the one knee thing. I've seen small ones at that age that have trouble with balance or their hips are not open the correct amount to make it useful.Could doing this from one knee be effective as well? Thinking of 9 year olds so they just concentrate/isolate their release and not the rest of their body
