Reynaud's Syndrome is cold induced. Thoracic Outlet is movement induced. Both have the same end result of reduced or complete elimination of blood flow.
If it's vascular she could also have an old fashioned partial occlusion or intimal medial tear.

Again, have her tested to see if it is vascular or neurogenic.

I believe Reynaud's can be stress induced also but either way I agree, get it looked at.

That is true by definition, but I have never seen stress induced Reynauds.
Now that I said that, I will probably see one by the end of the week.

Way off post ..

Both my pinky figures are not normal, both do not bend, always at 90 degree angle. Can make a fist, open hand pinky sticks out front.

Playing 16 inch softball can hurt , can not pamn a basketball either.

DD has it to a very lessor degree.

Thanks for all the info! DD goes to see a neurologist mid- next week, so hopefully answers will follow. I'll let you know how things develop.
FWIW- apparently this thing really works- https://epulsemassage.com/epulse-ultra - DD told me last night, she uses the thing in school and everything! I guess it has made a big difference as far as removing the constant distraction

UPDATE- DDs pitching coach worked her network and found a specialist who worked with/on one of her players (when she was coaching DI) who had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. His resume says he specializes in "maladies of the hand and upper extremity, including thoracic outlet syndrome, nerve injuries and vascular problems" which sounds like exactly the right guy! I'll be calling today to try and set up an appointment asap. FWIW, that player has since become a surgeon and she is the one who recommended him.
Not fer nuthn', but this is a good reason for your DD to pick a college she would go to whether she can play softball or not. DD has heard from 4 of the 5 schools she applied to and all 4 have offered scholarship money that is purely academic. I hope she can play, but if not she will still be ok!

Another Update-
We just came back from seeing the specialist I mentioned in the earlier post and he says it is a classic case of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. he was very nice, very informative and was able to get my wife (the skeptical OR nurse) to buy into it. Unfortunately it means(2) surgeries, with 6 week recuperation after each. will wreak havoc on the spring of her senior year and summer ball. we'll see what happens, we may be going in for #1 on 2/27.
thank you all for your help and advice. The hands changing color/swelling/numbness was the thing that made it clear. before that, I can't blame the doctors for not being able to diagnose it.

Glad to hear you have a good specialist and they are confident with the diagnosis....good luck with the surgeries and recovery time. Keep us all posted!
