Truthfully, in my obviously biased eyes, I would prefer her to focus on catching. I think she has the mentality for it more and is physically suited for it more. I am trying very hard not to make any decisions for her though.

It kind of sounds like you already did, but you aren't sure how to get her to commit. I would say start with the checkbook and a real-life discussion about budgets. Our dd had to understand that she couldn't do 2 expensive, time-sucking sports - so we made her choose. If you're writing the checks, then you do get final say in it. Catching & pitching both require tons of time and usually lessons (which aren't cheap) so even though she might be interested in both, maybe they aren't feasible or practical financially.
