Need Catcher's Glove

Hey Everyone,

Daughter needs a catchers glove. What are the best ones I can buy. Really want one to protect her hand, with the right interior padding, and one that can last a while.

What should I look at?

For thumb protection, I really just don't think anything beats a single break All-star! But I swear that AF-Elite looks like a dual break heel even though it specifically says it's a single break heel.

I also think that Magnolia looks interesting, I personally hate the colorway but really like the pattern! If it was all Tan.....oh yeah!

Gotta admit the color of the Marucci isn't working for me either. If the 50% deal was still going I'd be pretty conflicted on that one.

I would go with A2000 Super Skin. Very good padding. We upgraded from Liberty Advanced last season. DD says no sting and it’s llighter/more maneuverable with Superskin.

Most of the catchers I see in our area use the A2000 or Liberty Adv/HOH.
I know Allstar mitts get a lot of love on this site. I just haven’t seen them or used any.

Bought the magnolia and it’s a VERY NICE MITT. You get past the color pretty quick and a good catchers mitt will be dirty in no time. For $135, it’s a fantastic buy. But I’m not sure it’s on sale any longer.

DD had the CMW3000 for 4 years of TB practices and games, HS practices and games and a year of college Fall Ball and Winter practices. I had a LA for myself. After Christmas break was over and she went back to school, my LA was missing from my car and her old CMW3000 was there in it's place. She really wanted another CMW3000 but by that time All-Stars had moved on to the AF Elite. She hated the color scheme of those first ones and over Christmas break, had borrowed my LA to catch a Pitcher friend from another college. Thus, the story of how I ended up with a broken down CMW3000 to use instead of my pretty LA. The jokes on her though...I just bought the AF Elite CMW3001-B for myself. She's going to be so jealous

In all seriousness, you can't go wrong with any of those choices. I've just had very good luck with All-Stars and the Liberty Advance. That's the only reason I ordered another A-S for myself...well that and to make DD jealous.

Yeah, I really blew it on those. In December I needed a 1B glove for DD2 and now need a Catcher glove for DD1. Would have happily bought the Magnolias for $135.
